I work with a Promise Keeper, and I find what he believes in fairly interesting. He also listens to weird bible music and has plaques around his office like "Trust and Obey" and other funky shit. He's a bit weird, and tends to get viruses a lot. But other than that he is alright.
Yeah I know this message had no point.
KILL THE FAGS
: I dunno what most of that was about cuz i never looked at the sites, but, HELL YEAH.
: What I wanna know is why do people have this constant need for spritual understanding and everybody compares everything to god's will. Who effin cares if fags are abnormal according to the church, they're fuckin weird according to ME I don't need a god to figure that out.
: As for the man vs woman argument nobody's ever going to win that so I won't even bother.

: : It’s late, I'm bored, and I can’t sleep so I thought I comment on the latest post from _Space_ regarding the Promise Keepers
: : _Space_, what is your point? While I'm not a member, and have never attended a PK meeting I can certainly respect the effort they are trying to make. You didn't really express an opinion, but provided two links to a bra-burning feminist site and one link to the home page of a religious organization that have contradictory and misquoted statements throughout their own site. (I especially love the “Myth vs. Fact” page on the feminist site, in which their “FACTs” do nothing to disprove the “Myths”.)
: : PK want men to take responsibility, live for God, and lead others to do the same. I would agree with them that much of today’s ills are because of the lack of a strong family structure. The number of broken and unstructured families today exceeds the number of traditional mother-father-children families. When the majority of people are raised in broken homes how can we expect our children to take responsibility for their actions when they grow up?
: : In addition, according to the Bible (Ephesians 5:22-23), men SHOULD BE the spiritual leader of the household and therefore wives should submit to their husbands. Husbands should also love and honour they’re wives. There is nothing demeaning or unjust about submitting to your husband as long as your husband is providing the proper spiritual leadership (which is what PK is trying to ensure). As you are soon to be married, this is actually something you should consider carefully before you immediately jump to the typical feminist response that has been now saturated the minds of any female under the age of 35.
: : Keep in mind that the feminist movement has only been around for 30-40 years now. Throughout history, men have been the leaders of the community, it is the radical feminist movement that is “against the norm”, not a call for male leadership.
: : On the issue of homosexuality, PK has stated (and the majority of members agree) that it is an abomination against God. They do not promote hatred of anyone but only state that homosexuality is abnormal. I agree that homosexuality is not normal and throughout history, the church has always taught that it is against God’s will.
: : It’s only in recent years that certain movements have been trying to influence the teachings of the church. Of all things in this world, one would think that spiritual teachings should remain unchanged. I don’t see the problem with PK’s teachings; perhaps you (or anyone else) could attempt to “enlighten” me.
