: : If you like proof, I'd like you to prove to me that there isn't a higher power. I think you'd find it far more challenging than proving that there is.

As I have said before, it is almost impossible to prove something does NOT exist. HOWEVER, it is EXTREMELY easy to prove that something DOES exist. You only need to find one instance of something to know it exists. Yet in the thousands of years of recorded time nobody has found proof that god exists. I'm not going to try and tell you that god doesn't exists, because how am I supposed to know. I'm telling you that "I" BELIEVE there is no god.

Also I don't agree with the fact that the world was built on religion. It was built on greed and power hungry governments. North america may have been FOUND by accident, but it was certainly explored to gain power and riches.

Clay, you said "there are some things you can not prove, and this is one of them". All I can say to that is, if you can't prove it, don't expect other to agree with or believe in it.

If you look at my view on life my views on religion do go quite in line with the rest of it. I don't believe in luck, fate, or destiny. I'm not supersticious, while "magic" is cool I don't really believe it exists...etc..etc..etc. In almost all beliefs I have I demand proof before accepting them. I don't know why i'm like that but that's how I am and I don't see any changes forthcoming.

By the way I thought your first reply was super well said graham. And travis, if you really meant no disrespect or insult with that post I think you need a little more practice.
