I just wanted to note that I too felt that Travis's comments did seem somewhat insulting. I also felt that it was interesting that while he expressed concern over whether YC beleived in a higher power,
he also suggested that the religion he may eventually beleive in would be of that of the Christian nature. I am a Christian, and I don't mind discussing it, but I do not believe that every person needs to be Christian just
because I am.
YC, I know we don't agree on many issues, and this is just another, but I don't think little of your theories because they don't mesh with mine. What works for me works for me, and what works
for you works for you. You're fun to argue with, sometimes you are ignorant, but sometimes I am.
All that aside, as you choose not to believe in anything you cannot prove, I find these things (religion, fate, destiny, etc.)
to provide interest and excitement in a life that is sometimes boring and un-rewarding... a form of entertainment maybe??? (Maybe that just means I need to drink more often, but I am not sure...)
