: : Have you ever been in the Armed Forces or in any job where you were under a legal obligation to perform your duties regardless of your personal feelings about those orders? I have. These professions are all about doing what your told to, so don't even try to go there.
:
: Alright travis, give me a fuckin break, just because you were in the army doesn't automatically mean your mister hot shit army boy. I have a good mind to call bullshit on almost all the stories you tell, maybe they aren't but when you tell stories that's exactly what they sound like, a made up story.
I think you're being a little harsh here YC, he had a valid point and your completly ingnoring it. He wasn't saying he was hot shit, he was saying that following orders and believing what you are told isn't neccesarily a bad thing. If you had to discover everything yourself with NOBODY telling you anything, where would we be today? Every generation would have to start from scratch again...

: : There's a big difference between critical thinking and spewing forth opinions based on personal bias on a daily basis.
:
: What the hell are you talking about? First of all my opinions are not biased, don't even pretend that you understand me or my opinions as yours are the ones that are biased. Have you ever gotten in an argument in your life where you didn't use the fact that you were in the army in it?
I think you're getting off on a tangent here, and into personal insults... the fact of the matter is that believing in something constitutes bias, Atheism also consitutes bias. Everyone is biased, and we can't help it, if we weren't it would mean we had no opinion or belief, and the only people in Canada that aren't supposed to be biased are Supreme court judges :)
: I'd still like to know what brought this on in the first place as it's been quite a while before I made any religous comments.
You're just so damn good at starting wars :)
:
: : So explain your idea of the creation/evolution of the universe, and back it up with hard evidence then, NOT just theorems and postulates. Let's see your logic at work.
: Well you see the theory that scientific minds have is a theory that could have actually happened and is not something that was just told in a book.
Scientific theory about the creation of the universe may make more sense to YOU, however a religios person may say that the bible constitues ample proof of what happened. In fact, logically, I would say that a written account of the creation of the universe which is sitting right under our noses is be better evidence than scientific theory based on guesses and possibilities.
: Why don't you go start a holy crusade or something instead of wasting everybody's time throwing insults around in what was an otherwise well conducted argument.
This arguement was never well conducted :) And I think Sniper Wolf has done a better job of containing himself than any of us have...
