: For one, shove your stats up your ass pal.
Good comeback. Remember what I said about being insulting instead of actually having a real arguement?
: :A better question would be why do you require no proof? Do you just automatically believe everything people tell you on faith? If so, I have a bridge to sell you.
: The link you put above is a perfect example of what you just said. You haven't a clue where those numbers came from, yet you automatically assume them to be true because they support your views.
What are you talking about? It says on the page they come from the research team of the Encyclopaedia Brittanica, whose research methods I know and trust.
: :However, I'd say that ignorance seems to come from those who refute logic and reason with blind belief.
: Faith is a sign of a strong heart and mind.
No it's not! Physical endurance is a sign of a strong heart, and logical reasoning (which you have shown no sign of) is the sign of a strong mind.
: :And I don't mean just religion, but everything: "I vas only followink orrrrrderz!" is not a valid excuse these days.
: Have you ever been in the Armed Forces or in any job where you were under a legal obligation to perform your duties regardless of your personal feelings about those orders?
As international treaties and war tribunals have ruled, if what you are doing is inhumane or immoral you are not required to do it. Especially in Canada. If you do it anyway under the guise of following orders, instead of standing up for what is right, you're just as bad as any Nazi brownshirt.
:I have. These professions are all about doing what your told to, so don't even try to go there.
Oh yes, the great Canadian Armed Forces where new recruits are forced to wade through excrement and drink other soldiers' urine. Would you partake in these activities if ordered to, or would you attempt to stop this treatment?
Am I the only one who finds it hypocritical that someone working for an organization whose purpose is to kill other human beings claims to be a follower of Christ? Christ was a pacifist! Christ preached tolerence! If you're so devout in your beliefs, how can you possibly justify not only joining the army, but using it as an arguement to back up your faith?
: :If I'm not mistaken here, you're trying to say that you feel sorry for YC because he is a critical thinker.
: There's a big difference between critical thinking and spewing forth opinions based on personal bias on a daily basis.
Yes. I know. So take a look at the messages you've posted and see who has the most bias. I admit I'm biased, but I'm willing to listen and debate any viewpoint on this subject, because I'm genuinely interested. You seem to just use insults and swears instead of actual discussion.
: :Well, some people actually use logic, and facts, and critical thinking when determining their beliefs.
: So explain your idea of the creation/evolution of the universe, and back it up with hard evidence then, NOT just theorems and postulates. Let's see your logic at work.
Theorums and postulates are based on logical thinking. I'm not saying everyone needs concrete proof, I'm just saying that's what I need. What I am saying is that every person's beliefs should be based on something logical. For instance, it is perfectly logical to say that you think the initial matter used in the big bang was create by an entity or group of entities (gods if you will) that are far more powerful than we can currently concieve. There is no proof to the contrary, and this does not conflict with current knowledge of how the universe functions.
