I may not have been in the army, but I'm pretty sure that the reason for any army's existance these days is primarily for defense and the protection of the people (not mass murder and random violence like you seem to impression). You don't think people were killed in religious crusades? The whole concept of an army can be traced back to be biblical...I think its a damn good arguement.
